Course Description:

Students will design information for interactive telecommunications with a specific focus on the world wide web. This course will examine current and future trends in developing interactive digital media.

Course Competencies:

  • Define and discuss virtual communities as they apply to communication issues available on the world wide web.
  • Explore world wide web sites that demonstrate good artistic style and successful marketing approaches.
  • Evaluate and analyze successful advertising and marketing concepts on the world wide web.
  • Identify the various methods and technologies used to create interactivity and how they are implemented on the world wide web.
  • Create interactive web pages suitable for commercial use on the world wide web.

Class Policies:

  1. Late work will not be accepted you will be given a failing grade for any project not completed on time.
  2. Attendance is mandatory. Continued absence and late arrivals to class will not be tolerated. If a problem persists you will be advised to withdraw from the class.
  3. Cell Phones will not be tolerated in class or labs.
  4. Plagiarism, cheating, or any academic dishonesty will not be tolerated and will be dealt with in a harsh manner. Punishment may include removal from class or school.
  5. Your work will be viewed in a professional manner. All work will be expected to be presented professionally.
  6. If you are graduating this quarter, please be aware that all of your work and projects must be turned in no later than Thursday, September 13th. I will not accept late work. There will be no exceptions made to this rule. Once grades are turned in to the registrar’s office, no changes for graduates can be made. Also, your graduation clearance form must be turned in to the registrar’s office by Friday, September 14th. Incomplete or missing forms will result in the prevention of graduation.
